Live: Wild in overtime with Lightning looking for fourth consecutive victory

The Wild never trailed until the very end. They uncharacteristically blew a two-goal lead in the third period, and the Lightning completed their 4-3 comeback in overtime on Saturday night at Grand Casino Arena to end the Wild’s three-game win streak. Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov — on his ninth shot of the game and 20th attempt — wired the puck off the post and in during a 4-on-3 power play for the Lightning after Matt Boldy was penalized for tripping Kucherov. That was the Lightning’s third power play goal of the game. Blake Coleman capitalized only 55 seconds in for the Wild’s fourth goal in the opening minute, and Max Shabanov made it 2-0 with a power-play goal two minutes later. Shabanov later added a highlight-reel goal in the third period to put the Wild up 3-1. Advertisement But Tampa Bay rallied. Woodbury’s Jake Guentzel scored his second goal of the game, before Tampa Bay tied it on a 6-on-4 power play blast by Charle-Edouard D’Astous with the Lightning playing with an empty net. Kirill Kaprizov, Quinn Hughes and Joel Eriksson Ek pushed their point streaks to eight games with assists. Calvin Pickard made 30 saves in his home debut, and the Wild dropped to 5-0-2 at home. But they remain second in the league at 12-3-4 and have picked up points in eight consecutive games. Read more below for highlights and analysis from Wild reporter Sarah McLellan.
